Frequently asked questions

How many questions and marks are in the Group 4 exam?

It is one paper: 200 questions, 300 marks, 3 hours. Part A, Tamil, has 100 questions for 150 marks. Part B (75 questions) and Part C (25 questions) carry 150 marks together (Notification 11/2026, page 20).

What happens if I score under 60 in Tamil?

Parts B and C of your answer sheet are not evaluated. You need at least 40% in Part A, that is 60 of 150 (para 6.1, page 20).

Can I start from zero?

Yes. Start with the syllabus and study a small part of one unit each day. The exam is at SSLC standard (Notification 11/2026, page 20). This is our advice; no schedule can guarantee a pass.

Which part should I study first?

Part A Tamil. Parts B and C are evaluated only if you score at least 60 of 150 in Part A (Notification 11/2026, para 6.1, page 20). So give Tamil the first slot every day.
